Spencer Stephens is Vice President and General Manager of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Imaging, a state-of-the-art facility providing post production services including 4k digital intermediate and high definition mastering to the industry. He joined Warner Bros. Technical Operations as Vice President, Technology in September of 2002 as a member of the technology group. This group is responsible for technology development and application across a broad range of digital content distribution systems.
Spencer’s expertise has been on content security particularly in home networking and on the technology for new business models such as mobile delivery of content. He serves as a member of the DVB Project Steering Board.
Spencer brings over 25 years experience in technology and management to MPI. Starting in data communications as system engineer focused on the design and the innovative application of network systems his interests in the application of technology in the entertainment industry lead to him joining Walt Disney Television Animation as Vice President of Technology & Digital Production in 1997. There he architected the transition from traditional to digital animation and built a digital end-to-end virtual studio that brought together facilities in three continents.
He has a BSc (1st Class Honors) in physics from the University of Sussex, UK and an MS in computer science from the University of California, Berkeley. He was born in London and moved to California in 1982. He is headquartered in Burbank.
