Project Leader Digital Television Projects, Panasonic R&D Center, Germany

Frank - a baby boomer - studied communication technologies at the Technical University of Braunschweig (Prof. Schönfelder) and has been involved in broadcast technology developments from the start of his career. He entered DAB developments in 1994 and chaired the WorldDMB Technical Committee from 2004 to 2007 when new technologies like DMB and DAB+ have been standardized. In 2006/2007 he moved over to the DVB Project and conducted a DVB-T2 sub-group quite soon. In 2009 he became chairman of the DVB-TM-H group. Based on the high commitment of the partners involved the baseline for the DVB-T2-aligned DVB-NGH standard was recently completed and the drafting of the specification began.

To Frank DVB-NGH is the start-of-the-art universal mobile broadcasting system. One of its beauties is the option to make a start in combination with DVB-T2.

At the same time Frank is project leader for digital television projects at the Panasonic R&D Center Germany located close to Frankfurt.
