Dirk Jaeger, born on August 7, 1962 in Helmstedt, Germany, holds a diploma in Communications Technology from the Technical University of Braunschweig where he also achieved a Doctorate in Engineering in June 1998.
He started his professional development with Thomson Consumer Electronics in 1991 and became a scientific employee of the Institute for Communications Technology at the Technical University of Braunschweig in October 1993. Between January 1997 and December 2007, he was assuming the position of Technical Director at EuroCableLabs, the European Cable Communications Association’s Centre of Competence for Broadband Technologies.
Dirk is coordinating the EU-funded project ReDeSign and is active as Chairmen
of technical committees of standardization bodies (e.g. CENELEC TC 209) and
associations (e.g. ITG-FA 3.3) and has been appointed into various advisory
committees. He is a member of FKTG (Germany) and SCTE (UK) and has published
a number of papers on aspects of cable, digital television and communications
technologies in various journals. Furthermore, Dirk has given lectures at
a University and Academies and authored a number of expert’s reports.
