Head of Product Department, Global IP

Damián Palenzuela is a Telecommunication Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM).

He began his career in 2006 in the advanced mobile applications department of Telefónica I+D, working on international projects related to mobile and wireless wideband technologies for the development of secure personal networks. After that he took a short training period in Hewlett-Packard sales department, in which he come into contact with advanced servers and storage technologies.

Later he started working at Global Navigation Satellite Systems department at GMV Aerospace. There he gained a deep knowledge in satellite navigation technologies, working in international projects for the European Space Agency (ESA), analysing and designing high sensitivity GPS and Galileo receivers which combine GNSS signals with other technologies like WIFI and UWB, and implementing different solutions for avionics.

In 2009 he started a Master in Space Technology by the University of Madrid (UPM), which he combined which his work at GMV Aerospace. Thanks to this postgraduate specialization in space system engineering he acquired an important knowledge on great variety of subjects related to space environment: satellite communication systems, orbital mechanics and attitude dynamics, antenna design and microwave engineering, telecommunications satellites, space systems engineering and space project management.

In 2010 he joined Global IP as satellite and RF engineer. During this period of time, he has worked on the design of advanced DVB-S2/DVB-RCS VSAT networks and satellite SCPC links, performing link budget analysis, designing satellite transmission plans and preparing VSAT technical proposals for different kind of projects and clients.
At the end of 2012 he took the responsibility of the Marketing and Product department, charge which he is carrying out together with general project management and satellite department tasks.
