Ph.D. student, Vodafone Chair, TU Dresden

Albrecht is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the Vodafone Chair Mobile Communications Systems, Dresden University of Technology (TUD) in Dresden, Germany. He received his diploma in electrical engineering from TUD with outstanding grades in 2007. During his studies Albrecht spent one year working at the Mobile and Portable Radio Research Group at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia (now Wireless@VirginiaTech). He gained further practical experience working for Vodafone R&D in Newbury, England.

During 2009 Albrecht was actively involved in coordinating the German national research cluster "Cool Silicon" on advancing energy efficiency of ICT. Since 2010 he is member of the Technical Steering Group of the EU-funded integrated project "EARTH" and works on energy aspects of heterogeneous deployments under varying load conditions and carbon footprint of mobile networks. Since 2011, Albrecht is heading the system level research group at the Vodafone Chair, overseeing TUD’s participation in several national and international research projects as well as supervising PhD students.
